Plan orientation and permanent marks

NSW LRS ensures that plans lodged for registration comply with clauses set out in theSurveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2012, particularly in relation to plan orientation and placing and/or connecting to survey marks.

Plans of survey prepared for lodgment in NSW LRS must evidence the datum line adopted and all permanent and reference marks placed and/or connected to, as required by the Regulation.

Plan orientation wherever available, established Mapping Grid of Australia co-ordinates must be used to determine the bearing for the orientation of the survey.

Placement of permanent marks a survey in an urban area must be connected by measurement to at least 2 permanent survey marks.
Exemptions by Surveyor General can be given to individual surveyors from compliance with any clause(s) of the Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2012 for a particular survey.
