Where the mortgage has been assigned, the assigment (registered or unregistered) must be checked to ensure the party discharging the mortgage is the assignee.
Where the assignment is not furnished, a Deeds search must be made.
If registered, a copy if the assignment must be checked. The IPF must be marginally noted.
